Visit to Ajodha Pahar,Purulia,West Bengal

Ajodhya Pahar is a famous hill in district Purulia,West Bengal.It is a part of the Dalma Hills and extended part of Eastern Ghats range.Highest peak of Ajodhya Hill is Gorgaburu.Bagmundi is the populated town near Ajodhya Pahar.
It is a popular hill for young mountaineers to learn the basic course in rock climbing. There are two routes available to reach Ajodhya Hills. One is via Jhalda and other one is via Sirkabad.There is Forest Rest House here. Gorgaburu(855m)and Mayuri etc are some of the peaks of Ajodhya hills range.
The area forms  lowest step of the Chata Nagpur Plateau.The general scenario is undulating land with  scattered hills.The area around Baghmundi or Ajodha Hill is an extended plateau.
According to Hindu mythology,Rama and Sita had come to Ajodha Hills and stayed during their exile.Sita was thirsty and Rama pierced an arrow through the Earth's soil crust and through that water gushed out.Sita quenched her thirst.The place is known as Sita-Kunda.During the full moonday hin Baisakh every year tribals of nearby area come and join in the game of hunting wild animals.
Purulia Pumped Storage Project with an installed capacity of 900MW(4*225MW) has been set up in Ajodha hill under Baghmundi Police Station with the loan assistance of Japan Bank for Internation Corporation. Near Ajodha Hills,there is Turga Dam and the Lake and preasant water formed by the river Bamni.The site of the Turga Dam is a perfect tourist spot where the visitors can spend their day.
There are two famous guest House as Niharika and Malabika under WBFPC closed to Ajodha Pahar.There are so many beatiful visiting places here like Jaychandi Pahar,Dalma Pahar,Bamni Falls,Pathar Khadan,Turga Falls,Chorida Village,Muruguma Dam,Pakhi Pahar(Murra Buru Hill),Gorshabru and Mayur etc.Gorshabru is highest peak(2850feets) of Ayodhya Hills.There are various deep forests, numberous Waterfalls,Tarpania Lake,Khairaberia Lake,Upper Ayodhya Dam,Lower Ayodhya Dam,Mayui Hill in Ayodhya Hill.Leopards,deers,wild boars,numberous birds,peacocks,elephants,wolves and cheetahs are found in Ayodhya Hills.Nearest village is Baghmundi and nearest Railway Station is Barabhum.Lalmati Express,Howrah-Ranchi Express and Howrah-Chackradharpur Passanger are available daily in Barabhum station.

Visit to Tarapith Temple,Rampurhat,Birbhum,West Bengal

Tarapith is a small temple town near Rampurhat Railway Station in Birbhum district,West Bengal.It is known as trantric temple and a cremation ground is there nearby temple where sashanas(trantric rituals) are performed.This hindu trantic temple is dedicated to the Goddess,Tara Maa.Tarapith is also famous for Sadhak Bamakhepa,who was a mad saint and worshipped in the temple and resided in the nearby cremation grounds known as Maha Shamshan.The present temple was bult by Jagannath Roy of Malharpur about 200 years back,when a powerful flood in Dwaka river demolished the original temple bult by Joy Dutta.There is an old stone statue of Goddess as Sila Murti of Maa Tara.Lord Shiva is present along with Maa Tara as Bhairavh to the eastside of Goddess temple.There are other temples of the suprime lord Vishnu,Hanuman and Bama khyapa respectively.Tarapith temple is located a distance of appox. 7km from Rampurhat Railway Station
Atla is the birth place of great mad saint Bama Khyapa(1837-1911) and located near Tarapith at a distance 3km from Tarapit Bus stand.Maha shamshan is a present burning ground.At old ages,according to Hindusm,dead body of sages were not burnt after death but burred in holy places or flow in holy river.Pancha Asan of Vashishtha Muni,Samadhi mandir of Bama Khyapa,Pad-Padma,foots prints of Goddess in a form of stone are situated together to the east of Maha Shamshan.Samadhi mandir (tomb stone) of several other sages are also found in Maha Shamshan.
Tarapith is located on the northen bank of Dwaka,river at a distance of appox.220km from Kolkata in north side of West Bengal.There are about 25 numbers of hotels and lodges in Tarapith like Hotel Larica,Hotel Sathi,Hotel Yashoda International,Hotel Comfort Inn and Hotel TARA etc.

Visit to Varanasi and Kashi,Uttar Pradesh

Varanasi is a great historical and holy city of Lord Shiva in Hinduism in India.Main temple is Shri Kashi Vishwanath and it is one of the most famous Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva in Varanasi,Uttar Pradesh,India.It is located on the western bank of the river Ganga and it has one Jyotirlings out  in this Shiva temple.Varanasi city is also famous for KashiVishvanath temple.The name Vishvanath is The Ruler of the Universe.
This temples were destroyed and reconstructed a number of times in history.Once,this temple was demolished by Aurangzeb,the six Mughal emperor who constructed the Gyanvapi Mosque on its site.
The current structure was bult up on an adjacent site by the Marata ruler,Ahilya Bai Holkar of Indore in 1780.The two domes of temple were covered by 1 tonne gold donated by the Sikh Maharaja Ranjit Singh in 1835.The Bhosales of Nagpur donated silver to the temple in 1841.Later,however,third dome was covered by gold plating from Ministry of Culture & Religious Affairs,Govt. of Utter Pradesh.The temple has been managed by the govt. of Utter Pradeh from 1983.
As per Hindu mythology,Lord Shiva married Goddess Parvati on Mahashivratri and gauna was performed on Rangbhari Ekadashi.Residents of Kashi celebrate the occasion in a grand style.
The Manikarnika Ghat on the bank of Ganges near to the Kashi Vishwanath temple is considered as a Shakti Peetha,a revered place of worship for the Shaktism sect.Once,Lord Shiva came to Kashi Vishwanath Shrine through Manikarnika after the death of Sati Devi in past.
As per tradition,devotees carried the idols of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati in a palaki from the house of former mahant of Kashi Vishwanath Temple.Blowing conch,damru and other mucical instruments,the devotees went to the sanctum sanctorum of Kashi Vishwnath  Temple and offered gulal and rose petals to the deities.
The Kashi Vishwanath Temple receives around 3,000 visitors every day but in any occasion,it reachs more than one lac.The temple height is 15.50 meters having three domes each made up with pure gold.It is located at a distance of 4.70km from Baranisi  Rail Station,3.10km from Kashi Rail Station and 24.70km from Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport,Baranasi.

Digha is a nice visiting place and seaside resort town in Purba Medinipur district  in West Bengal.It is situated at the northern end of the Bay of Bengal.It is a shallow sand beacth and most popular sea resort in West Bengal.Digha is located 183km from Kolkata & Howrah via Mecheda.The best time of visiting to Digha is March to July as weather stays all most pleasant in this time.But people and visitors are coming here in all seasons throughout the year.
